This family favorite is made in the fall when the weather is cooler, and everyone craves a nice warm bowl of stew.

1 lb goat stew meat
1 large onion
4 stalks celery
1/2 tsp of salt (season to your liking)
water to cover the stew meat
1 cup shredded cabbage
4 large carrots
6 fresh tomatoes
1 apple (we have apple trees and like to add them)
LaClare Farms Goat mozzarella or LaClare Farms goat jack cheese for garnish

    1. Brown stew meat along with onions and celery in a frying pan (remember to do so on low heat as goat has a minimum amount of fat and can dry out easily).
    2. Place in a crock pot on high and cover meat with water to cook for 1 to 2 hours.
    3. Now add your choice of vegetables and apple.
    4. Cook in the crockpot until the meat is tender and the vegetables are cooked. Typically this takes another 1 - 2 hours depending on the temperature of the crock pot.
    5. Serve in a bowl or cup and top with your choice of LaClare Farms Goat Mozzarella or LaClare Farms goat jack cheese.
